Our ‘Track of The Week’ is from Liverpool’s Jack Gill. He’s just released his new single ‘Ballad of A 90’s Kid’ and we love it!
We had a catch up with Jack about what he’s been up to:
How has lockdown been for you as an artist?
Tbh lockdown worked out well for me, I became sort of a student of music and really developed my rhythm guitar as that’s my role in the live band, along with lead vocals of course. I listened to all different albums, the so called classics, and developed a signature sound. So although it was of course tough with not playing live I made the most of a bad situation.
What inspired you to write the new single?
Stephen King – as mad as that sounds haha. During lockdown I was so bored as everyone was I began reading lots of different books by him and one night I had a dream about the a rocker selling his soul the devil and decided to write short story on that which then turned into ballad of a 90s kid!
What do you have planned over the next few months?
I have a gig in Jimmy’s Liverpool on 7th august, I am then supporting your boys Columbia and have a new single followed by headline a gig on Halloween weekend.
What up and coming artists are you listening to?
Me boys Columbia of course and The Heavy North, the lead singer has such a powerful voice, Jose’s production is top notch too but All them witches are my favourite band at the minute, I am going to see them in London in October and cannot wait!
