Our ‘Track of The Week’ is from our very own La Club Royale. On Friday they released their second single ‘Vibes’. The track heavily uses disco and electronic sounds throughout.
Here’s what the duo had to say about the track:
How did La Club Royale form?
We formed La Club Royale at the tail end of 2020, we didn’t really know which direction we wanted go music wise but a few weeks coming up with new songs we used the synth alot of writing them which guided us towards the fresh sound we have today.
How have you found the project so far?
It has been manic so far but amazing, we have a backlog of songs that we are entirely hell bent on releasing this year which has given us both the drive and determination to succeed as we believe the songs are going to huge.
Why have you picked ‘Vibes’ to release as your second single?
‘Rise Up’ was the transition from our old sound in Ranzas to the direction we want to go and ‘Vibes’ jumps into that new sound we are going for, plus it is a proper summer tune so it is only fitting we release it approaching the warmer weather.
What is ‘Vibes’ about?
Essentially the song is about dancing and having a good time, we know it has been a tough year and a bit for everyone but we hope that once dancefloors and gigs are packed again then ‘Vibes’ will be that go to for DJ’s to stick on to get the crowd going. We also cannot wait to play it live.
What was the writing process for ‘Vibes’?
We were in the studio and Connor was buzzing to let me hear this new tune he had made and needed lyrics for. When he played it, I instantly got a good feeling and put the lyrics down and we then stuck the guide vocoals on it and we built the song out each week from there.
Who are your biggest influences?
We have alot of influences, New Order, Bronski Beat and Lucia and the Best Boys to name a few. To be honest, we drift in and out of different music and pick up small details from each artist which rub off on us and then we incoprerate those details into our own creations.
What do you plan to do next?
Next for L.C.R will be releasing ‘Vibes’, releasing a music video for it, we also have a few remixes which will be released in the next few weeks too and then for the rest of the year we hope to have a fair few songs and videos released. We have made a packed that we will not gig until 2022.
What other up and coming artists are you listening to at the moment?
Recently we have got right into top lads ‘Dictator’ who have been releasing some incredible tracks and continue to do so, highkt recommend checking them out.
