On Friday our Columbia released their new single ‘Where Did It All Go’ which has received a massive amount of support from both fans of the band and industry professionals.
Although written before the pandemic the song holds great relevance to the times that we find ourselves in just now. It enables all music lovers to connect with the song and think about what has happened over the past year.
Listening to ‘Where Did It All Go?’ you can hear the progression in the musicianship of the band from their first single ‘BTG’. The band only picked up their instruments back in 2017 and it’s clear from the latest single they have developed their sound to be the recognisable sound that is…. COLUMBIA.

The write ups and support for ‘Where Did It All Go?’ have been fantastic. Here are some of the write ups for the track:
Pillar Artists:
“Ringing open-chords from an acoustic guitar introduce and anchor the song as the band boldly build the sonic textures, adding delicate piano in the quieter sections and unleashing big electric guitar tones during the chorus as the song ebbs and flows between verses before, ultimately, culminating in a final, glorious swell that sends shivers down the spine with the final lyrics as the song fades out.”

The Pentatonic:
“‘Where Did It All Go?’ is a slower, more emotional song than Columbia’s usual indie anthems. They have managed to pull off the sombre tone brilliantly, whilst still keeping those brilliant lead guitar riffs over the top giving it that edge and excitement that I love from Columbia. It was written before the pandemic, but still holds a significant resemblance to the times we are in and how businesses and nightlife are non-existent. Once everything is reopened and back in full flow I can imagine this song having a special place in Columbia’s live set, a beautifully uniting moment amongst all the chaos.”

The Indie Pitch:
“Their recent single release “Where Did It All Go” is one of my favourites. It is a song that reminds me of bands such as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and The Verve. With dreamy riffs, bright acoustic guitars and catchy vocals, it is crying out to be played at the end of a huge set. In my opinion, this is Columbia’s best work yet, and I am very much looking forward to seeing what the future brings for the talented five-piece.”
